Hi All,
I am new here and found this site after a friend gave my son (15 yrs old)his 2000 Speedster Sk jet boat. He has had it since new in 2000 and a week ago today threw a rod thru the cylinder wall after prepping for the summer boating season. The boat is in great shape otherwise and he gave my son all stuff (skis, wake board, etc.) with it and trailer.
My son is very excited but I explained that it may not be worth fixing. It has the mercury V6 engine and I need help finding out where to get a used or rebuilt engine. Any ideas would be helpful. I need to either decide to fix this or get rid of it quickly so my son is not too upset if we decide not to fix.
We have a much larger boat that is kept on the coast but we can't ski or wake board with it so my son is very interested in fixing f possible.
Thanks,
Lee
