I am considering buying a new 2011 Challenger 180 SE, the list price appears to be $25,999. How much off this do you think the dealer would be willing to go? What should I offer?

My boss is an old boater and his advice to me was for me to offer 3/4 of advertised/MSRP (whichever is lower) and negotiate from there. Actually ended up at about 7/8 of sale price. After we got the price, then they had to get me a boat (which was a challenge late last year) and they ended up eating the cost of bringing it from Colorado to Ohio.

Its gonna be tough to haggle the price of a 2011 now. You could probably get a really good deal on a 2010 if you could find a leftover somewhere.

I have noticed the MSRP on the 2011 is about $2K cheaper than the 2010 where last year. Would you be in line for the wake tower? I think they look sweet. Wonder if I could get one fitted to mine.

When I worked for Tracker we had 30% markup which was pretty much the industry standard at the time.

Guys I sell for a powersports and marine dealer. The 180 challengers we have never given more than $1000 off to sell one and they always move(most sell at list price). There are alot of other products that we largely discount but those 180's are hot sellers down here on the coast.
