I am considering buying a Challenger 180 SE, what kind of fuel economy do people that have this boat get?, is there much of a difference between the 215hp and 255hp engines?
Thanks

Welcome aboard, gofaster. I have a 2010 Challenger 180 SE (255hp). I got about 6 hours on my first 3/4 of a tank. Mostly it was either idling around or 50% sprints and maneuvers to the next swim spot. I was breaking the engine in, so I never went above 75% on the throttle, and made sure switch up rpm every so often.
The thing I noticed was that at 50% on a sharp 180, the low fuel indicator will go off until you straighten out the boat.

great boats, depends how you use them.Flat stick I'll use half a tank in about 90 mins. That's with 7 people going 70+kph. Going at 75% power which will give you 90% of that speed about 25% of a tank.Fuel consumption would be about the same I gather between the models unless you crank out that extra 40 hp. cheers
