Hi I'm new to this forum and have been wanting a SeeDoo for a few years now. I'm not into the 50K look at my wake tower boats, I just want a fun smaller boat to go out on the many lakes in my area to have some fun. I'm looking to pull tubes or a wake-board but mainly just enjoying the sun!
From what I have seen for sale I'm looking for a 98-2004 Speedster or Challenger. I would prefer the boat to be either blue or silver in color. It's going to have to be shipped unless you live close enough for me to make the trip. I live in Spokane, Wa. My budget is around 5-6K. Thanks for the help and advice.

Thanks! I found a 2000/2000 Challenger just across the border in Idaho. They are asking $9500 but I'm hoping to make a better deal. Also with it being this close I can save around $800-1000 in shipping.
Any particular things I should be looking for when I go look at it? I have never owned a boat before.

If you are going to look at it, I would recommend to do a compression test on the engine and also take it out for a water test. Dont just take the sellers word that everything is good on it.

The thing that would scare me about that boat is the Mercury motor. They are great motors but can be very costly if you have a problem.

If do a compression test what should the specs be on a good motor? Thanks for the tip. And ya even though it's still cold up here I'm gonna take it out on the water. They are asking $9500 for a model year 2000. It was a trade from last summer so it's been there for a while.

I got a speedster 2001 sold new in 2002 and paid 9500.00 (mint)
we've been putting off picking it up waiting for the ice to thaw for a water test. Hope to try it this weekend. (50 it's suppose to be). I suspect it's fine, but surely would like to see it start and run and get a bit of a test.

Honestly, I am not even sure on the mercury motors. I dont know them very well. If you search with google I am sure you can find it though. That price seems a little high for that boat. Dont be afraid to travel for a good deal.

The compression test they ran showed 130psi across all 6 cylinders. The weather is so crappy up here I don't know when I will get a chance to go take it for a spin.
And ya the price is high and no way will I pay that much for it. In this market I should be able to get a great deal if they really want to sell it.

I went for a test drive today. It had some trouble idling but it was it's first time out this year. Also the steering was interesting. Going left was easier than right. I've never driven a boat like this so it was all new to me. Other than that the boat was in great shape. Only one small tear on a seat and a small piece of molding was coming off near the drivers seat. They are going to get the idle checked out and get back to me. It was fast...52 on the speedo!
