So I had my pumps out for the winter and just got around to them cause one had a gash I wanted to replace. I had purchased 2 rings a few months ago I forgot were I ordered from. However the old ring was tight to the impeller not much gap like .021 ... the new ring has a huge gap .037 at the top and .030 on the rest.

Think I got a junk set of rings? I dont know the specs of the solas impeller diameter.

Also it has solas sd-sc-k 16-21... solas website recommends 15-23 whats the difference?

It might be best to go directly to Solas on this one, keep us posted what you find out.

That gap is huge. The impeller should not make any difference. You still use the same wear ring. I think you got a bad wear ring. Where did you order from? I dont mind buying some aftermarket stuff, but on a wear ring, OEM is the only way to go. There are tons of stories of people getting bad wear rings from places like ebay.
