I Have a 2001 14 ft Sea Doo Challenger with twin 717 engines, one of the engines just up and quit while cruising around last season, I did troubleshoot a little, the engine will run out of the water but only on 1 cylinder (rear) I seem to be getting a spark (and I would assume fuel because it is a single carb) on the front cyl but it wont fire off
I don’t have a gauge to give you the compression…anything common that would cause this? Im wondering if I just need to replace the engine
Thanks in advance for any input

Update, I dropped it off at Jerry whittle boats last Saturday for the sole reason that I want to get on the lake as soon as possible, the weather is shaping up nicely in Tx already
Im afraid to see the bill though

Ok i took it to a dealer..bad idea! they wanted 3600 for starters(after they had it for roughly 3 weeks) to rebuild the top end, seems one of the oil lines failed and fried one of the pistons in that motor. I have a shade tree guy the previous owner reccomended so I took it to him..bingo 600 bucks labor + 300 in parts incl wear rings and carb rebuilds/oil lines/machine shop etc and all is good to.
Thanks all for your input
