OK, I recently purchased a 2003 Utopia 205 with the Merc 240EFI Engine and M2 Jet Drive. I am trying to get a straight answer on running the boat in my Driveway! Open up the back and get to the hose inlet and then I am finding an extremely confusion set of posts all over the internet basically saying the opposite of each other...
Start motor, then quickly start water... Reverse order to shut down... If you run the water with out the engine on you will ruin the engine...
Now the other one I see is (I am sure you can guess)
Hook up hose and turn on the water! NO Issues on the motor, you don't need to even turn it on and you will be fine. If you do leave it at Idle as the hose attachment is not going to provide enough water to fill the cooling system..
I am guessing one is for a Rotax engine and the other is the Merc...
I see both on the internet and I am VERY CONFUSED!! I have a SeaDoo Manual but not the Engine manual the SeaDoo one says to look at for operation. I obviously don't want to hurt the engine and I am trying to figure not only the correct way to run on the trailer.

Congrats on the new Utopia and welcome to the forum. Give this a try, it is straight out of the Mercury 240 EFI manual.
