I know this has been talked about and talked about, but I just picked up my "new" 2008 C180 with 46 hours on it and have done ALOT of reading about the washers in the SC. From what I have read mine should have the updated SC but still have the ceramic washers in it? Correct? I figure that I might as well swap them out during the off season but am not sure if that is all I need to replace. I was an auto mechanic for several years so the task is no big deal but I'm not sure how much to replace and I have also heard alot of people just say leave it alone including dealers who say they have not even heard there was an issue or that that "problem" was corrected in that model year. Please advise.

When we had our 180 Challenger we still had the ceramic washers, our boat had 27 hours on it when we sold it. I have been told recently that at 100 hours it is highly recommended to go ahead and change the washers out to the titanium coated stainless steel washers. The boats are less prone to failures of the washers because they rarely "jump" out of the water, the PWCs is where they have seen the majority of the failures because many don't practice throttle control so the PWC "jumps" out of the water quite frequently causing these critical components to overheat very easily.
