Hi, yall I need some help. I have a 1998 sea doo sportster with a Right engine yhat keeps "flooding out" at idle. Give it throttle and it is fine all day. but let it idle and die and I am screwed. It will not start back up. I had the carbs rebuilt, new fuel filter, and new pump, new spark plugs, good compression. Same problem. any ideas? BTW the Left engine works great.

What are the RPMs on the engine that is flooding? Is it running higher than the engine that is running normal?

when I give it throttle they both run the same. but let it idle and it dies.

How long does it run before it dies? Are the RPMs different at idle before it dies? It almost sound like to me that the fuel line is not delivering enough fuel at idle so the engine chokes out.

the RPMs are the same at throttle and idle, but the bad one dies after only a few seconds of ideling. And then will not start until it sits for a long time. A friend told me to check the fuel selector valve but I don't know where that is. What do you think?

It is definitely worth investigating, might be a good idea to get a shop manual from this site so you have something to guide you and help troubleshoot this a little further.
