Hey, I'm looking for help. I just purchased a new Sea Doo cover on ebay for my 2006 Islandia SE. While trying to fit the cover, I noticed the ski pylon is interfering with the cover. The pylon is actually sticking out higher than the folded bimini and causing a stress on the cover.
I did a little research, and it seems like the Pylon should be able to collapse?? Does anyone know how this is done? I couldn't find anything online so I called two dealers and both of them told me that it should collapse but none of them where 100% sure how to do it?? One guy told me he thinks that I need to unscrew the screw found on the head of the pylon. I tried this and already broke two screwdriver bits. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or the screw is seized.
So if anyone here owns an Islandia SE along with an original sea doo cover, please let me know how you do it.
Thanks

How do you collapse the Islandia SE ski pylon?

Take a look at this post, http://seadoosportbo...andia-ski-pole/
We recently discussed some of the complications of operating the Islandia ski pole, I posted a manual in that post that might be able to answer your question. Keep us posted on what you find out because I sure others will be faced with the same challenge.

Tks, Kevin
Believe it ot not I contacted 6 different sea doo dealers and none of them had a clue on how to remove or collapse the ski pole. One dealer even gave me BRP's phone number, they told me they could not help that the dealer had to contact dealer support.
Okay, well according to the 2008 manual supplied on this forum, looks like the pole simply unscrews out of its base. I tried that already but didn't try real hard.
Meanwhile what I figured would happen, happened. The pole went through my new cover. luckily, it seam stitching let go before the cover ripped. So at least I can probably get repaired for cheap.
Now let's see if I can get that bugger off!

I don't know if it's the same as my speedster, but on mine you have to unscrew it to "loosen" it off. This allows me to push mine back down in. I'm really surprised that no dealers could help.
