Last summer i broke the throttle cable for the boat. I replaced it and all was great. Just last week, I had it out on the lake. I gave it some gas and it took off, I went to throttle down and no response. I hit reverse and it responded. I was thinking throttle cable issues.
I brought the boat home, pulled out the control unit and the cable. When I manually push and pull the cable I get a response at the engine, so that tells me the cable is good. WITH THE CONTROL UNIT OUT AND THE CABLE CONNECTED ( so I can see it all ) It get the same response at the throttle on the engine....it moves the throttle asssembly and gate. I didnt start it because i had to disconnect my kill switch.
I installed everything back.........UGH - I start it up, I can give it gas, but she wont respond to me letting off the gas. Same results in reverse.
I'm thinking its something in the control unit ( the throttle handle and the inner workings)........anybody? ideas? I'm thinking its so easy, its hard and I'm being blind.

UPDATE: I just pulled the throttle housing out again ( control box ). I started up the boat and throttled up...( just a smidge ) ....right where my throttle cabe attached to the housing, i noticed that where the cable is attached, the "knob" it attached to is in a slotted arm. when i throttle down, the knob in the slot does not allow the cable to throttle down.
Thats about as clear as mud huh? I'll take pics.
