Is this supposed to be for a hull fitting?

I have a 230 Challenger SE. Just forward of the starboard jet intake there is what looks like a rubber plug about 2 inches across. Is this supposed to be here? Is this from a hull repair?

Did you buy this boat new or used? If it was new, I would ask the dealer about it since I have never been under a 230 I can't say for sure. I can say that our 180 Challenger doesn't have anything like this on the bottom.

I think that spot is for the depth gauge sender/sounder. You have one?
