Ok.. so I was looking around the net and found that a dealership is offering the speedster for an amazing price.. Now before I bother going and looking things over i wanted to get some opinions.. Not sure if its the same as when buying a car but i know some car dealerships hate doing warranty work when the car was not purchased at their dealership.. the dealership that has the boat is a little over 4 hours away from me.. but no one is offering close to the same price as this place.. its a left over 2009 and like i said the price is great.. im just nervous buying from a dealership thats 4 hours away adn then if i need something checked out if dealers around here are going to give a hard time because i didnt purchase it from them.. and i know seadoo is offering the 4 year warranty when you purchase now... thanks for any input..
Buying a boat from dealer further away?? Worth it?

I bought my PWC local and once the warranty ran out they still charged me the same $100 per hour for service that everyone else pays. I'd see if the local shop would match and if not then go for the deal. If there is a nice lake close, you might use them for service just so you have an excuse to "lake test" it there. Good luck!

We bought our first boat out of state so I would say if it is a good enough deal then make the drive. Just make sure to lake test it and that everything is to your satisfaction before you take if off the lot. Treat it just as if you are buying a car, same principles apply. Keep us posted!

Do all dealers allow a lake test? Is it someting they set up or do you have to set it up yourself? I am trying to sweeten the deal a bit via email. Asking price is 15000 for the 09 Speedster 150 w/ 155hp.. That is including all dealer fees, set up fees, etc. Tax will add another 1000 to it.. I am trying to see if they will lower the cost just a bit more and also throw in some free gear. Maybe include a cover, extinguisher, vest, or some play gear like wake boards or tubes or something.. All the places i contacted that were local were all asking for sticker price.. even on the 09's which there werent many left locally..

I would ask for matching life vests if you don't already have them. They are very expensive and add up quick!

All dealers should do a lake test if they want to sell their boat, not many will buy something without driving it first. Our dealer threw in a "coast guard" pack - all the gear to get you legal on day one. They should be able to at least do that. Keep us posted.
