WITH SURPRISE DISCOVER DURING SUMMER PREPARATION FOR MY SEA DOO CHALLENGER 180 SE 215 HP SCIC 2008 YEAR (HAS ONLY 29 HOURS)THAT THE AIR FILTER 'S METAL( NON STAINLESS STEEL) MESH AROUND THE WOVEN FABRIC IN & OUT HAD DECOMPOSITIONED FROM THE RUST SPREADING RUST AROUND ALL THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT .
ANOTHER CHEAP QUALITY PART FROM SEA DOO OR WE MUST USE THE BOAT ONLY IN FRESH WATER ?
THATS A GOOD WAY TO MAKE DAMAGE IN YOUR SUPERCHARGER AND YOUR ENGINE IF YOU DON'T SEE IT!
THE BOAT IS USED IN SALT WATER IN AEGEAN SEA BUT NEVER HAD RUST PROBLEMS WITH MY PREVIOUS & FOR OVER 10 YEARS I WAS OWNER OF A SEA DOO EXPLORER INFLATABLE JET BOAT!

NOW I WILL TRY WITH AN AEM DRYFLOW AIR FILTER 21-203D (Non-woven Synthetic)WITHOUT METAL MESH TO RUST AND COST AROUND 48-54$

I'll second the thanks for the heads up - we don't go in the salt water that much, but stuff down here in South Texas rusts prematurely, even the stuff that doesn't go in the salt water.......

I'll be checking my filter tonight....

Ouch. That saltwater sure is nasty. I suppose with our short seasons and pristine fresh water lakes most Cdn Sea-doo boats live a sheltered life compared to thier southern cousins.
