[STEPHEN X-20]

I have made many modifications to my 02 (Challenger) X-20. The Hydroturf is still my top mod for the money, but this little digital depth finder has been my second favorite. I saw someone else do this exact installation on another forum, but I thought I would share pictures of my install here. The installation took about two hours start to finish, which probably took longer than necessary but I was nervous drilling through my dash.

I did the same install on my 08 Speedster and the display only shows ---; did you have to adjust your transducer to get a reading or was it working fine right off the bat? how are you liking the unit otherwise? Thanks!!

picture of transducer attached. looking now at the first pic I think I have to add a shim to bring the unit more parallel. Thoughts?

I assume you have lake tested it and still have this issue. My first one quit working and showed the dashes also. I called Patrick at Norcross and he sent out a replacement. I had to put a $30 deposit on a credit card until I returned the defective transducer. It happened again to me this year and they sent a complete new model at no charge. The Norcross customer service phone number is 888-766-7276.

Talked to Patrick and he was quick to suggest they will just send a replacement, kind of worried now how many times these things might crap out?

He assured me that this is a new model, since they know the had problems with the old one. It's an easy changeout if you cut the transducer wire and pull the new one through with it, however I hope this is my last time. (third times a charm, right?)

never thought of cutting the wire to get the new one hooked up; without a doubt worst part of the install is crawling around on the engines running the wire up and around to the dash! I will post here once the new one is rec'd and installed with pics. Thanks again.

I just got my replacement installed. The company even sent me a prepaid UPS label to return my defective unit. It was an easy changeout and took about 45 minutes. I did have to purchase a tube of marine silicone sealant and a few wire connectors but the minor inconvenience and expense was well worth getting a unit that works. Both my wife and I love this upgrade to our boat!

first do you have a speedster 200 /08 ? if so did you install the depth gauge in the open slot on your dash
