Hello,
Just picked up a 2005 Challenger 180 with a 185 SC Rotax. Had the chance to take it out once so far... what a blast!
After reading up this forum and other site, it appears crucial to change those infamous ceramic washers on the clutch assembly of the SC. Although the boat will mainly be use for familly outings on the weekends, the low cost of replacement vs the high cost of repairs makes it a no brainer (what a lame move on the part of BRP not to get rid of them).
Anyhow, the boat is great.
Thanks to everyone for this great ressources on these boats. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I become more familiar with my new toy.
P.S.: here's a first newbie question: the insurance cie has asked me for the engine serial number. I've looked at the Rotax, but couldn't locate anything that looks like a SN. Where would I find that information?

Welcome to the website, glad to have you here!
I believe all they should need is the boat's serial number which should be on a black tag at the back of the boat.

My Insurance place asked me the same question about my engine(s) In my Speedster 200
and I just explaned that they come from Seedoo with the boat and are part of
the boat package(unlike using Mercury, Volvo, ect... on x brand boat). That
was all the info they needed and I never looked for VIN's on em, give that a try?

Thanks, I will.
I agree that the boat serial # should be enough. Even if the engine serial # was somewhere on the engine, the space is so small and you have to hang with your head upside down I probably wouldn't see it anyways.

The serial numbers on my twin Rotax 110hp's are clearly marked on small ID plates on the engines themselves.
Did you look around in the engine bay?
Also, the manual should say exactly where they engine serials are located
