Alpine CDA-118M 1.8Din Marine head unit
Alpine KTP-445 4x45 RMS Amp (not marine)
Alpine SPR-M700 7" Marine Speakers x4
Alpine MC-20 (replaces MC-10) Onboard Remote
Alpine RUE-M1RF Wireless Remote
Head unit install was a PITA due to the size hole the stock splashguard makes
I had to modify the guard to fit the CDA-118M into it but it worked out ok I think.
The speakers were too big to fit so I sanded the stock holes about 1/2" bigger
with a sanding wheel on my cordless drill (worked well but lots of fiberglass dust)
The KTP-445 was a treat, inline plug & play, no wiring, nice power boost, mounted in glove box.
Mounted the MC-20 in the drivers side cup holder cause "I" want to control the tunes
and didn't want to cut any more holes for now at least.
Thoughts...
The sound is considerably better then stock, I am very happy with the sound quality and volume.
Alpine needs to include a mounting adapter for the head unit to fit easier, The display is a bit blocky / low rez but sound quality is top notch and has every audio device support known to man!
The RUE-M1RF might be my favorite toy, waterproof, floats, 100ft range, full control inc. power.
I considered adding a Sub earlier but now don't think I will bother, the 7" mids give descent lows.
Highly recommend them if not wanting to add a Sub & Sub Amp.
I'll be adding Sirius in about a week, Yes, I'll post pics shortly

But if you have any questions I would be happy to try and help, besides flying me in
from Canada may negate the cost savings of doing it for you

Just installed the CDA9886, the SPRm70's and the MC20. Question for you though, did you have any issues connecting your mc20? I have finally gotten it to connect, it shows the track and if I change the volume on the deck it shows the volume changing on the MC20 but I cannot control the deck from the MC20. Can not figure out what I am missing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I know it's a little late on reading this post but you seem to have connectivity, make sure you tapped into 12v power for the remote, otherwise i would say defective remote? I would get another one from the dealer you got it from. Cheers...

I currently using an Alpine IDA-X001. I received the MC20 as a gift and now my research is telling me it may not work.
Any thoughts....?

I have looked into the MC20 and it appears that it will only work with an Alpine Marine head unit. The MC20 has two connections to the unit... steering wheel control 3.5mm jack and the display connection. The non marine units do NOT have the display connection. So the real question is will it work/should it work with a non M and just not have a display??????

Your local Alpine dealer should be able to tell you, if not call Alpine direct (I have). They seemed pretty good with their product info.
Cheers

here are a few pics to get an idea...
How on Gods Green Earth did you fish the lines over to the other side of the boat? This is exactly what I want to do but my stereo is in the glove box and I have no remote. I can but the remote through Ebay but I have no idea how to get it over to the drivers side. Every time I pull up along some one, I have to jump out of my seat, open the glove box, reach in and turn the stereo down.
