I ended up buying a 1997 Challenger 1800 and so far i love it! I tested the compression on all the cylinders and they were around 145, and the motors run and idle very well
I just have one minor problem..
When i'm throttling up both engines evenly, the right will rev about 1000-1500 RPM higher than the left. When i have them both wide open, they tach just over 7000 and the boat runs well, but its a bit harder to control on the way up to max speed
Could the throttle cables need adjusted? We were thinking this might be an impeller issue because its hard to steer to the right (but that may just be because of the weight distribution we had in the boat)... the right impeller is a bit nicked up, and the left impeller's seal is cracked. But it feels like the engines arent very responsive and kinda stick when i adjust the throttle....
What maintenance would you suggest that I do to help this problem? Thanks!
