Just added 700 lbs of fat sacs to the boat. HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE WAKE! I was just wondering if anyone on here has any ballast added to their boat. I know the boats are not made for wakeboarding and I should just buy a wakeboard boat, but I just want to maximize what I already have. If you have a system i would love to see pics.

not yet. Haven't had a chance to get out. Question: what is the big foam piece behind the motor for? Is it supost to be attached to something? I would really like to put some ballast back there in the future but they would have to have a ballast pupppy pump connected to them. there is no way im climbing down there to fill and drain them.

Its in the very back of the boat, directly behind the motor. very large piece of foam. you cant miss it if it is back there on your boat. If its not supost to be there its gone b\c i dont know where it came from. Its cream foam wrapped it black egg foam. Ill try to get a pic up.

Looks like the foams are for sound deadening, they are the wrong types for flotation.

I agree I believe that is just for sound deadening.

I think I figured it out! I took out the back seat coolers so i could have access to the sides of the boat. I put a 350lb sac on each side with the fill/empty spout coming out of the cup holders on the floor behind the driver and passenger seats. Then put everything back to normal except the cup holder. Ill try to post some pics later. really easy project for a better wake without taking away from seating or floor/storage room.

So after wakeboarding about 10 times this spring and trying different places for fat sacs, this is what i found to work the best. I have two fat sacs in the bottom under the cup holders which hold about 250 a piece. They are 350 sacs but the space only allows for about 250. Add a 350 sac to the ski locker. If you have two people on the boat fill it all the way up. If you have 3-4 just fill about half way. This puts out an impressive wake(for a jet boat). We have been able to do back rolls, 360's etc. Don't let any body tell you you cant wakeboard behind this thing. My tower post is between the driver seats and the back seats and we use any where from 70 to 75' of line. Best speed is about 25-26 mph( which is probably actually 23-24 mph). The engine sputters a little out of the hole but does fine. All the wakeboarders are around 170-210 lbs. If you have different people equipment you can adjust accordingly. Also added hydro turf to the back of the boat, a must for wakeboarding. I am so pleased with this boat now.

I was looking at doing the same thing with my 2009 challenger 180 as I do not want to compromise my seating/floorspace. What are the dimensions on your side sacs? When you fill them they don't interfere with the tubing from the bilge pump or the tubing for the gas intake? I have stainless steel cup holders and they don't seem to come out to run the fill/empty spout through them. Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated. I just bought a Ronix Koal wakesurf board and I can't wait to use it!

I did a little of the wakesurfing before i got rid of the boat. You are going to need a lot more weight to wakesurf. I ran 1800 lbs of ballast for surfing plus people. I had 3 350's(the same ones that were down in the sides for wakeboarding)one in the bow to the side one in the back over the cupholders in the floor, and one in the back seat. they all have to be as far to the side as you can get them. Then i took a 750lbs sac and laid it over the back sac and compartment and swim platform. You have to tie this one down or it will be in the lake after a run or two. Its not fun to get out....trust me.

I wakeboarded behind the boat once with this much weight. I didnt think the boat would pull me up and get on plane but it did. It was a great wake.
