I recently bought a 96 speedster this is my first doo and have a few questions. The tittle says it has twin 67 hp, but everywhere it says it has twin 85 does anybody know which one it is? My other quetion is about the two fuel nobs by the floor on the driverside wall what are they for?
I'm not an expert, but I'm quite sure the Rotax 717 is good for 85 HP.
The "knobs" your referring to are the "fuel tank valves". A three position valve, ON/OFF/RESERVE. Top knob for the PORT engine, bottom knob for the STARBOARD engine. FULLY ALIGNED hash mark at the 12 O'clock position is "ON".
I also agree with Kevin. It's in your own best interests to read the owners manual for your boat. There are procedures, if not followed correctly will cause serious damage to your DOO. The engine flushing procedure for instance...

Thank you I have read the manual since I posted and learned alot. My wife and I actually took it out for the first time today and had a blast the most fun i have had driving a boat.
I'm glad to hear that you and your wife are having a blast!
Up here in the Northeast, it's not quite time to go in the water
