95 Speedster heavy on oil on first startup

1) When I first put it in the water it smokes real bad. It takes a while to get it on plane, but once it does then it seems to burn out the extra oil. After that it never happens again. Again only happens after it sits for a week and I put it into the water for the Weekend boat outing. Any clues as to what I need to look at??
2) One of the engines from time to time will get stuck at 4K RPM when going to full throttles out of the hole. Once I start planeing then the engine RPM will pop to 6.5k. The other engine pop straight to 6.5k. my guess is jet settings on the one engine???? Any Ideas??
3) Once at full throttle one engine will run at 7k and the other will run at 6.5k. What is the correct RPMs at full throttle???
Thanks All!!

I picked up a 95 Speedster and it needed some tlc. I got it running pretty good and it's got 130lbs on compressing in one engine and 140lbs in the the other engine(looks to have been just rebuilt). I am however confused on a couple of issues/questions:
1) When I first put it in the water it smokes real bad. It takes a while to get it on plane, but once it does then it seems to burn out the extra oil. After that it never happens again. Again only happens after it sits for a week and I put it into the water for the Weekend boat outing. Any clues as to what I need to look at??
My smokes a ton at 1st start up too. It has been completely checked at a marina and got a clean bil of health so I guess it's just the nature of the beast
2) One of the engines from time to time will get stuck at 4K RPM when going to full throttles out of the hole. Once I start planeing then the engine RPM will pop to 6.5k. The other engine pop straight to 6.5k. my guess is jet settings on the one engine???? Any Ideas??
None, sorry
3) Once at full throttle one engine will run at 7k and the other will run at 6.5k. What is the correct RPMs at full throttle???
I always match the RPM's on the engines, not sure what full or max rpm's are though.
Thanks All!!

at WOT my 717cc engines sit right at 6900-7000 RPM they are not exact the same but within i would say 50-100 rpm of each other
