I noticed that the roller on the front of trailer which guides and suports the front of boat onto trailer has put wear marks into the hull. It has worn right thru the gel coat and is working on the paint right now. Is this normal wear and tear? or is something wrong?

How far are you cranking the boat up? What is the condition of the roller?

I crank the boat up untill the metal hook is right at the crank. (so...as much as I can). I noticed the roller had a flat spot so i rotated it to the other side which still looks good. I dont use rear straps if I am staying at a lake for several days, wondering if that could contribute?
