I purchased a 2003 sportster with a wakeboard tower last year, im wondering if anyone can tell me how to remove the tower, the welds are cracking and i want to bring it in to be repaired and i don't want to bring in the whole boat

Are there any bolts connecting to the mounting brackets on the boat? I would imagine that you would just unscrew these and then it should detach from the boat. Do you have any pics?

Ill send some pics tomorrow,I just got in from being on the boat on lake erie,lots of waves today,i think i can feel bolts on the back bracket but i dont think i can access the ones on the front,like i said ill send some pics tomorrow,thanx for the reply

As I recall the 2003 Sportster towers have sliding clips at each mounting point. Its a 4 man job but once the clips are slid towards the ball mount the tower pops straight out. There are small allen screws in each "ball" to tighten the plastic bushing, make sure they are tight, a lot of movement can happen if they aren't. Please note that design is no longer used.
