I just bought a 09 challenger 180, it is not the se so it only has speakers near the rear seats. I want to add speakers in the bow where they are in the se, my question is does anyone know if the wires for those speakers are pre run in all challengers or will i have to run new wires myself??

We have a 2006 and just added bow speakers. There were speaker leads out of the head unit but only to the connector. You will have to modify the connector or just cut the wires and splice in the new speaker wires directly to the adapter coming out of the head unit. Our stereo was Clarion and there were no wires run for the front by Sea Doo.

Sorry its taken so long to get back to you. I need to take a couple new pictures of the bow installation and post them. I realized I don't have a clear good shot of the speakers.

I too am about to install two bow speakers in my 2008 C180. Any pictures would be helpful. How did you run the speaker wiring?

Here are the pictures of the polk speakers we installed about 6 months ago. I bought four conductor white wrapped exterior cable from an electronics supply store in Orlando that sell every variation of cable you can imagine. I purchased a new connector for the Clarion radio on Ebay and then spliced the connectors to the factory boat connector. The radio works great and the speakers are an incredible improvement from the factory speakers. These were MOMO branded speakers from Crutchfield and I got four of them for about $140. My next addition would be the subwoofer and amp.

Great pics....I installed my bow speakers about two weeks ago. I got the Polk DB651's...The sound is fantastic!

The wires are not pre-runned, you will have to run them. Just use a metal hanger from the inside of the glove box to the upper area of the seat on the same side of the bow, then to the holes you did for the speakers. One little thing I ran into: you might have issues with the stock Clarion unit overheating and cutting when you crank the volume now with four speakers instead of two. If you do, you'll have to run a bigger size wire for the 12v of the unit. 10 gauge or bigger will do the job. Don't ask me why, but the stock 16gauge wire doesn't provide enough power to the unit for four good speakers so the internal amp falls into protection mode... And another thing, because they are in the bow, please consider spending an extra few bucks on real good marine speakers as they will get into water pretty often. Non-marine speakers will work, but will not last very long. Polk Audio makes the MM651UM which sound awesome and are Ultra Marine so they can get soaking wet without any long term problem. Totally agree with Jon-X about the Polk speakers....I used to be a Sony speaker guy but I'm sold on the Polk DB651's. Awesome product!!
