I just bought this boat recently and put it in the water last weekend for the first time. I had never wakeboarded before but an avid snowboarder and kiteboarder I figured I wouldn't have any issues which I didn't.
The question is, the wake wasn't very big, and there was LOTS of spray from the boat.
I'm thinking maybe we weren't driving/pulling properly since it was mine and my buddy's first time towing someone one a boat, this is what we were doing:
-When the wakeboarder gave the signal, go 90-100% throttle to get him out of the water
-Once the boat was on plane which didn't take too long, eased up on the throttle to about 18-20mph and cruised
This caused not much wake and a HUGE amount of spray probably 20-30ft of spray behind the boat.
Are we supposed to get the boat on plane? Some people are telling me that it shouldn't be. Maybe just a ballast bag in front of the rear seat with 500-600lbs would be good?
Thanks for the help!

We usually cruise 18-22mph when pulling a wakeboarder, this seems to be the optimal speed for SeaDoo's. You won't get a ton of wake because these boats are not designed to create wake like wakeboard boats do. Putting some extra weight in the boat would definitely help but if you are still get a lot of spray then I would recommend lengthening the tow rope.
