My 2004 Challenger 1800 has an engine beep after i take a run. When i come back to idle and am changing tubers/skiiers it will beep. I though it was a low oil signal and added oil. It still beeps?
I pulled the boat out of storage and droppped in the water. The speedometer doesn't work. It is stuck a 7mph. I took it out and looked at the spinner/sensor at the back and it is spinning fine. I've had it out 3 times now and no change...
Tips?

I have would have the dealer diagnose the beep.
As far as the speedo, it might have just gone bad...this isn't unusually in the earlier model boats. In our 2000 160 Speedster our fuel gauge went bad and had to be replaced.

What are the usual issues with beeping Kevin? It beeps once every few minutes during idle after I've been on the throttle for a bit?

Our 160 Speedster use to beep when the oil was low but you said you had already checked this.

Believe it or not, the mechanic said to bang on the oil tank a few times as the oil level float may be stuck. I haven't been out to the boat to try it yet? I'll let you know if it works...

The same beep keeps occurring. It beeps once every 30 seconds and is continuos almost until the engine cools it seems??

At this point I would take it to the dealer and have them check it out.
