so i went into a SEADOO dealer on friday to check out the 2009 230 wake.. (was looking for speedster wake but nobody around here stocks them.


so i get talking to the sale man about a price, LIST price was over 61,000 (canadian $$$$) the only thing i was aware of that it came with was a "custom" trailer(it was painted red.. whoop de F*ck) he told me i could get it for the low price of just over 58, 000 and tax ( 430 HP model) is this boat gonna be worth all this money??

That seems quite high to me, I would keep shopping around; especially in this economy you should be able to find a much better deal. I would have a look around on http://boattrader.com.

i did see a used 08 230 wake... but they still want 46900 (canadain $$)for it... soo

Does Canada not offer any service like BoatTrader for you to shop and compare multiple dealers on their prices?

we have something kinda similar.. called canadatrader.com .... but its a site for mostly used cars,trucks,boats,watercrafts, rv's etc. Its very limited to new boats (that i have found anyways) this one dealer i got a price from is the only dealer within a few hours of me that deals with (sea-doo) boats

so today , i calculated... $58,000 can is $52,756.05 usd

what would this boat sell for in the states??

52K - 55K sounds about right for MSRP in the states but I would say you should be able to negotiate to get it less than this, more like around 45K - 48K.

I just purchased a 2008 model and saved a ton of cash that way. It's still brand new with the 5 year warranty and has all of the options that the 2009 has including the 430hp. The 2008 model also has a better transom walk through. The 2009 moves the walkthrough to the middle eliminating the sunpad option on the back of the boat.

Anyway, this is the way to go if you want to save some serious coin. In the US an 09 is about 51k and you can get the 08 for about 39k (even less if you really look). I actually found one for about $35k in AZ. They have 2 left in the 2008 model.
