I have a 2001 Islandia and am wondering if there is any way to modify the intake grate to try and prevent small pieces of debris from entering the impeller? Two days in a row I have had pieces of wood get past the intake grate and jam the impeller, requiring the boat to be taken out of the water to clear the jam. Does SeaDoo make another grate or screen that could be installed over the original grate?

You boat has the Mercury engine, so don't bother with talking to Sea-Doo. Mercury does make a couple different grates and the one that would probably interest you the most is the eleven tine stainless steel rock grate. It replaces the entire Hydro Surge grate with a solid fixed grate.
