I will be removing the tuned pipes on my 1997 Challenger 1800 in order to repair water leaks. Is it likely that I will have to replace the Brass Washers (#274000169) located between the tuned pipe and the tuned pipe cone?

If you are going to be tearing it down then I would recommend replacing them while you are in there; keep us posted of your progress.

I haven't replacemed mine and I've had the pipes out a few times. If I recall, the manual says to put a layer of copper gasket maker between the two interfaces.
So far, I haven't had mine leak. Good luck
