That stuff you used to fix your tuned pipe may last forever, and may not. I sealed a gas tank in my old '66 Chevrolet PU with that stuff, and it's been almost 7 years and hasn't leaked yet. The alternative is to get someone to weld a new plug in.
I never even thought of the dreaded freeze plug leak. Seems it's a common problem. Good job!

I use that stuff to fix everything. It is really good stuff. Tons of uses. And last forever.

It's called Marine Tex. You can but it at any Marine supply store. It hardens like steel and sands like wood. Comes in white or grey. Two parts, a putty and hardener. It's been around for years and years. I used it on my cars when I was growing up. Gas tanks, freeze out plugs, cracked heads. I just fixed my fiberglass pool slide this past summer with it. Great Stuff
