[230 Challenger SE]

I have 50 hours on my boat and put it on the beach maybe 5-6 times and the gel coat on the hull is worn through showing fiberglass. I do not leave my boat up on shore but I do pull up to let my Family out. What is really wierd is it is also Dissapearing from the aft end as well, not sure what that is about. The boat is a 2008 with really minimal use on it and really minimal use on the beach. All the video show boats up on the beach but if just after 5 times I would not recommend doing this, very very costly to repair. Anyone else have any issues like this, ??

I agree, something seems very bizarre about this. Have you contacted your dealer, what did they say?

I have been in contact with BRP as well, trying ti figure out if it is going to be covered under a warranty, a third party Fiberglass specialist was brought in by BRP and said it was a manufacture "flaw" but 13 weeks now and still BRP seems to drag feet as to what is going to be done. I am just a bit upset that such a new boat has and issue and seems like warranty issues are not being honored.

Too funny, sorry to hear about your issues. Have you thought about installing a keel guard or getting the bottom of your boat painted?

@ $45,000 and 2 months of boating do not think I should have to, but, now that I will turn it into a billboard I probably want it to stay afloat for longer than a year so I will do something. Thanks, James

..sorry to hear about your new toy..to the fact that BRP hired a third party to inspect and verify that there's a mfr flaw and still left you hanging for 13 looong weeks is not acceptable . "not honoring warranty issues?"...AMEN! Good luck and hopefully your boat be fixed before the damge gets worse.

sorry to hear about your problems with such a new boat. My used 2001 challenger has 2 small spots on the front port side where the gel coat is wearing away and my father's old 1999 challenger 1800 also had the same problem. I plan on putting a marine grade 2 part epoxy over the area to seal it up
