I have a friend who wants to GIVE us a dual engine seadoo jet boat. It will be stored at a Yacht Club which typically is very quiet (sail boats). Am I about to get a very loud boat that would be annoying to others? I guess the real question is.... Are these boats louder, quieter, or the same as similar sized propeller boats?
THANKS!
THANKS!

What is the model of the boat you are referring too, Mercury or Rotax engine?

Im not exactly sure as I have not yet seen it. I believe its about 17 feet long and has "dual engines", maybe 1999 or 2000? something like that. Its more of a general question, but I can certainly see how models differ.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Well it is depending on the engine, the Mercury is louder than the Rotax.

Considering too that when I start the boat and get out past all the docks, I have to be going pretty slow. I just want to make sure Im not going to be heard from far away..."Oh, there goes Ken in his loud boat" (says the guy at the inside bar)

why worry about others? Its your own boat, even if its loud there is no law against that. if you follow all the rules and not do dumb stuff I wouldnt worry about it. I want my boat to be loud, hell I would even put thru hull pipe if I can afford that.

It sounds like you are getting a twin engine Rotax powered boat. The noise isn't bad, if the main engine seals are worn then just tell everyboat you are the mosquito control boat....I'd start it somewhere else first to make sure the boat runs well.
