Also, I always have a problem taking off the boots! It's exhausting! I mean, you're in the water- reaching for the laces and straps...unfortunately you have big beer belly and it's difficult to reach and untie thedarn boots! Are there boots out there that have quick disconnect straps or something? Hey, I think this is a hint to go back to the gym and start exercising!

I have started sitting on the platform with my feet hanging in the water, I then leave the board in the water and push my feet in this way. It is definitely harder this way because you don't have the support underneath the board like you do when it is actually sitting on the platform. It takes some getting use too but this works better for me and keeps me from scratching up the gelcoat or damaging decals while trying to get into the boots.
Tip: You might know this already but if not....bring some shaving cream along with you, lather your feet and boots up; this will make your life much easier when trying to get into the boots.
I have attached a pic of our boards, we have strips of rubber to cover the edges/fins when not in use to protect those from doing damage while not being used.

Those same type of fins have been the culprit of doing minor damage to the decals on the back of our Challenger while putting the boots on too. My board has the fins, but my wife's board doesn't so her board is much friendly to the boat when putting the boots on via the platform.

Aha! That's a great idea, thanks! Are those rubber strips available at a sports store? or perhaps I can make one from a garden hose? My next outing...off to Walmart to buy two cans of the cheapest shaving cream!
