I just purchased a roll/mat of hydroturf and unfortunately bought it without the 3m adhesive. Any ideas what type of glue to use to attach the hydroturf to the boat. Are there any special things I need to do to have it attach securely other than making sure the fiberglass is clean and swab it with alcohol before attaching?

Contact cement is what is recommended for Hydro-Turf installations without the 3M adhesive. You can pick some up here, http://www.ad-discou...;products_id=85. Nothing special, just like you said make sure you have the area real clean, apply the cement and lay it down.
Tip: Have someone help you lay down the larger pieces because they can be difficult to align before they stick down with just one person. Hit it down with a rubber mallet to make sure you get a good bond to the fiberglass. Let it dry well before you take it out on the water.
Lastly, post some pictures once you get it installed!

I would recommend sticking with contact cement since this is what Hydro-Turf says is best for their product without the 3M self-adhesive already applied.
