hello all,

 

im having a problem with the boat. jsut went to launch today and the boat started right up. backed off the trailer. turned around then got about 20 yards out and it died. it will start and barely run for about 6 seconds then die again.

 

Im looking in the manual and seeing the fuel filter is on the port side where the fuel line goes into the square box on the motor. im gonna take that off and check the filter and order one and replace it.

 

Im wondering about this hole that is on the right side where the plugs are. (see pic) should there be a bolt in there to plug that hole up or ? i cant find anything about it in the service manuals or regular manuals that i have access to.

 

please let me know. i also found a little bolt in the bilge area that looks like a plug. does anyone reconize this?

I am sure you tried, but did the bolt fit in that hole?

 

It appears the bolt that does/did fit there has been out a while due to the rust.

I did try that and it would thread in, i then noticed that the other side has that hole also. so it looks like it should be there. just wierd that that is open like that.

 

I dont know if its fuel delivery cause it does start every time but then dies after 4-5 seconds like it ran out of gas. maybe its a fuel pressure regulator or something. im trying to find a shop that can work on it before july 4th. every is booked up.
