I have a 2003 Sportster VTec (155 hp) with 280 Hours on it
- I was wondering if anyone has any history on how many hours I can expect to get out of a 2003 Sportster VTec
- I have followed all scheduled maintenance
- No previous problem
I am not sure if I should consider a trade-in or to sell it if it is approaching maximum life expectancy
Other:
Any idea how much a 2003 Sportster Vtec with 280 hours on it would sell for ?

There is a quick easy way to see how your engine life is doing, just take a compression test. If the compression on a NA engine is in the 180's or higher and have less than 10 PSI difference between cylinders you are good to go. Keep in mind there are estimates for well maintained engines, 800 hours for an open loop cooled and 1,400 hours for a closed loop cooled like yours. If we sold your boat considering the maintenance you've done it would sell for $9,999.00 easily, if it has a good cover and bimini maybe more.
