Hey all. new to the forum.
Out for a cruise the other night, 30 mph putting along with the dog. Suddenly the revs drop, not sure exactly by how much but very noticeable. Also, say goodbye to the supercharger familiar whine. Substantial loss of power. It's going to the dealer tonight. What's the deal with BRP and these superchargers. Will be checking for rotation of the supercharger prior to trailering to the dealer tonight. Based on all my reading, most here... thanks all, it certainly points to the supercharger. Oh and the Clarion radio crapped out as well. Not a fuse, has power to the connector. ??? arrrggg!

Well I took the boat in to my dealer. I was away for ten days and was optimistic on the repair being done during that period. Got home and the boat had been dropped by the dealer .
As I suspected, the supercharger did fail. The dealer replaced it with an "upgrade kit". He indicated that he could not use 08 parts because they have the same issue???? Not sure as to the details about that. They also fixed/replaced the radio. There was no expense to me other than the gas to get the boat there.
Right of the top, the boat responds quite a bit different compared to it's first day in the water. Revs at WOT are 8080rpm. Boat climbs out of the water faster and top end is up 5 mph!!! That seems like a substantial amount.
So all-in-all I'm very happy with BRP and my dealer for the repair. I hope this SC "upgrade" is the answer to what appears to be an ongoing problem with these engines. Fingers crossed.
Cheers
