The scupper Kit Part # is 295500637. The campaign # for the recall is 97-1. It covers '96 & '97 Sportsters, Challengers, and Speedsters. Go to any dealer and give them the VIN number of the boat, and they'll either give you the part or install it for you (your choice), no charge.

The 'flapper' and 'scupper' words are confusing me....
Pictures anyone of the old and new?

No joy. Short of actually calling the dealer in Oregon, no scupper for me... Unless I'm planning a trip to Gulfport,MS in the near future. Not.Heh... I found a dealer 255 miles away who would do it if I trailer the boat to them. In fact, they won't do it any other way, they say they could risk losing their dealership for not performing the work themselves. Oh well. They have a point I guess.

I'm fairly certain that mine doesn't have a valve at all. Water comes in when I'm stopped whenever there are waves big enough to push the water all the way through the tubing... Apprently the hole is above the water line because water never comes in when I'm sitting on smooth water.........Looking at the back of your Speedster, on the far right hand side of the transom is a one way valve. The valve leads to the deck drain under the driver seat. The scupper lets water out when you are moving forward, and stops water from entering the deck when are sitting still. The rubber flaps of the original valve do leak, and from time to time, leak alot. The upgrade is to a ball type valve with a more positive seal.

Call Eli at NW SeaDoo (503-238-2510) in Portland and tell him your Hull ID number. He can look up the number and see if there's any campaigns covering your boat.
