My fuel gauge mysteriously stopping working today. It was working ok until I had to replace a faulty speedometer. I have checked all connections and cleaned all the fuses. Everything else is working ok. I am thinking it may have be a faulty sensor. I have read about changing them out, but am wondering where it is and how I access it. I am open to anything so I don't need to spend another $130 on a fuel gauge. I just spent $150 on a speedometer.
Thank you.
Mike
I believe the sending units run about $130 so you are stuck. There is a way to replace the sender's internal fuse but if you aren't sure how to access the sender, you likely aren't up for trying repair the sender.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how to access the sending unit? I would just replace the unit rather than try to replace the fuse. I have also read that sometimes the floats get saturated in fuel and don't work properly or that the magnets come out of the unit.
Is there someplace I can get details on how to access the unit? What is the chance that it's just a bad guage?
Thank you.
