Hydro-Turf replacing carpet

What we don't like about the carpet is that it stays wet long after the boat is out of the water and has a tendency to smell (lake water...) if we don't lay it in the sun. Also, lots of dirt gets under there making our cleaning job a bit harder.
Has anyone swapped? Does the Hydro-Turf feel better? The only thing we can see loosing is the perceived width of the walkway to the bow - the carpet covers the hinge area where the Hydro-Turf would not.

We currently have the Sea-Doo carpet in our boat, but will be putting the Hydro-Turf on at least the bow and transom.

Robert-
I'll be replacing the carpet in my c-180 for all the same reasons. Ours has a permanent foul smell. I put Hydro-Turf on the swim deck last year and we love it. Feels good underfoot, cleans up nicely. Wife is very happy with it, so it wasen't hard to convince her. Will let you know what we think.
