We had a getleman at our marine buy a Fountain 38 Special into which he crammed twin 625 HP V8 Chevy engines. We had a 200 Speedster with the 430 HP package in the water with the customer so we naturally challenged him to a drag race. Two things happened, I learned to turn away from the race while waving a victory salute as he blew by us at 80 MPH and he was genuinely pissed at his sales guy for guaranteeing that there was not a faster accelerating boat out there! On top of that he could have purchased 8.27 Sea Doo 200 Speedsters for what he paid for his Fountain.
