i am a new member who has owned a couple of jet ski's in the past but this is my first jet boat. the problem i am having only happens a couple of times during the day. the boat starts and runs great but every now and then the engine will slow to about 5000 rpm and just bog down like there is no power. i then usually shut down the engine wait a minute or so and then start it up and usually the boat runs fine again. thanks in advance for any advice guys..........

There is an interesting situation with the LE DI engine when it is installed in the Sportster body. The spark knock sensor will put the boat into limp home mode if the boat is run at 4,500 to 5,000 RPMs for even a little while. Once fix is to add a washer under the sensor, that may help keep the computer from thinking it needs to kick the boat into limp home mode. The other thing we have done at Seadoo's request is replace the computer with one from a personal watercraft. Unfortunately the boat will then go to full RPMs in neutral because the PWC computer doesn't have a neutral limit RPM. The bottom line is that the LE DI engine seems to like full throttle or idle, not much in between.
