I have a 2004 Sportster & the "spotters" seat (the one that faces backwards) has always had a problem with water under it.
It NEVER drys out. Whenever anyone sits on it they get a wet butt.
Can anything be done about this? I've looked but the seats don't seem to be removable.
Thanks.
Jim

Where do you store your boat when it is not in the water, does it have time to dry out when you are not using it?

my sportster is the same, however the seat base does slide out, but they can be very difficult to gat back in, my boat has been stored in a garage for six montyhs and the seat is still wet! a dehumidifier would probably help a little, but taking the seat base out completely is probably the only solution, when you take the seat out - assuming yours slide out - check the area underneath as there may be a drain under the seat which mya be blocked. - dont just pull the seat out - check out the bombardier parts checker which is linked from this site and look at the seating on your model and you should see how the seat is fixed and if it slides out.
The boat that just passed you was a seadoooooooooooo.

Wow, you think it would have time to dry out in that amount of time but if it is real cool where you store it then I can see how it wouldn't. Maybe try a dehumidifier like thumper suggested, that sounds like it might help the problem and accelerate the drying process.
Here is a link to the BRP Parts Catalog, http://epc.brp.com/d...portboat&lang=E, this should help you see how the seat would come out.

I pulled the seats out of my 2005 Sportster and recovered them with new fabric. Before I reinstalled them I drilled a drain hole in the base under the seat. I don't have the "wet butt" problem any more!!
