I'm new in this forum and new on boating.
I have a brand new 2008 Speedster 150 SC with only 2 hours on it.
I read about the potential problem with ceramic washers.
Is that problem present in 2008 models ?
Do I have to worry about that ?
Is there another issue I should worry about Speedster 150 ?
I live in Chile, south america, and will use my boat mainly at sea.
Thanks.

You're Ok! 2008 supercharger's come with metal washers, they also come with a fixture that pumps oil down the center of the supercharger shaft that gives the clutch a constant supply of oil.... 08 supercharger assembly is far superior to previous modelsHi,

Now I trust more in my new boat.
On sunday a plastic bug went in the water intake. To solve the problem I tried to take out the metal grid that protect the intake, by loosen 3 10mm bolts and one 13 mm bolt.
I couldn't loose the 13mm bolt, because after 2 turns the head of the bolt got broken. !!!!
It seems it came with some kind of bonder.
Now what can I do ?
The dealer is at 1,000 miles from here.
Thanks in advanced.

I have the same boat and did the research and found out our boats dont have the ceramics they are titanium coated ,you can tell we have the updated motors because of the kn air filter and intake system is upgraded, we also have better cooling with the flow of oil to our superchargers, does your boat have problem with the the locking drivers compartment, where you can put your finger under and open it ,even when it is locked.

mkp you have to use a heli coil ,it will reverse thread into what it left of the bolt and then you will be able to take it out ,after you tape it ,spray it with something to help free up the bolt.goodluck
Thank you for your advice, I'll try it.

i have an 06 scic with about 92hrs and i get 58 on the speedo and 60 on the gps, shouldnt the newer models be just as fast or maybe a little faster, considering that they have upgrades??
60 huh?! Is that down-hill, with the wind? Or maybe down-stream. Could be you are using better gas or thicker air.

The 2008 Sport Boats DO NOT HAVE titanium coated steel washers! ONLY the 2008 personal watercraft have titanium coated steel washers in the superchargers. There are no exceptions or running changes from the factory, if it is a 2008 sport boat then it has ceramic washers in ALL of the supercharged engines. One fact you might be interested in is that we have NEVER have a sport boat supercharger failure, we have had several PWC failures typically on RXP models that have been ridden in the ocean where the operator did not practice throttle management while airborne. If you use Captain skills while operating your 150 Speedster SCIC the ceramic washers will be fine. Just back off the throttle a little while airborne and the ceramic washers will last for years.

I had to have mine replaced before I had 20 hours on my boat. The washer broke taking out the supercharger and oil pumps. BRP replaced all of it under my extended warr. (1800 Ca. if I didn't have it)

I have also had my supercharger washer go out on my '06 sportster. Dealer repaired under warranty. The following year the oiler cooler also had to be replaced under warranty because the first dealer didn't do the repair correctly. Gears were all stripped up. I like to think that I treat my boat very well and do not push it. Yes, I even back off the throttle when I hit a wake from another boat. My gf was in a car accident and fractured her neck 2 years ago so I have to take it easy. Didn't stop the supercharger washer from failing. My warranty is up this year and I will be replacing the washer with a metal one now that it will be on my dime.
