Hello I am happy I have found this Forum. After reading a lot, I have a few Questions. I am “thinking” about a 2005 SeaDoo 155 4-Tec Sportster. The Dealer (they sell for private owners) is asking 12k I can get it for 10.8k OTD. Comes with a cover and trailer that’s about it. I was told it only has 30 Hours. It looks in VERY GOOD condition. Sounds like a good deal to me??? First question, for the Bimini top do I need to stick with a OEM or is there "good" after markets Biminis that I could get? Another question is I do have 07 and 06 Kawasaki’s PWC’s. (STX 12 and 15F) how does this boat compare to the power and the “Fun Factor” to the PWC'S? This would be used mostly on the lake and sometimes down in FLA with the wife and I and maybe another couple from time to time.
Thanks for the Input!
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I have a 2007 Speedster 155 HP, and though it is newer and has a different name they really are the same boat.
I traded in a 2004 RFi for the Speedster (got 4100 on the trade--great deal) and got the model with the board tower and bimini top.
I have not been the least bit disappointed yet. Aside from the mechanics of your boat which I have no way of knowing, the boat has been a great boat. I'm not sure about your boat but mine has a closed loop cooling system, so if you'd use it in saltwater, you never really have to worry about corrosion inside the engine--just flush out the jetdrive and lightly rinse the bildge and you're set.
That said, I think they are probably asking a bit much for it, especially with 30 hours. Mine listed for around 19 K brand new, with the rack and top they immediately, with no fighting came down to 15499 Brand new. I negotiated for another 500 off the price and $200 in credit at the store. So I got the 2007, new no hours with the features you want for 14799. I bought in June, which is a horrible time to buy since they are getting lots of other people in and out during the summer. I'd hold out for 9k-10k
Its really fun to drive, fast, great acceleration, very simlar to a jetski, but always remember it is not a jetski and will perform differently. Also remember because of the pilot lights, you can have it out at night, which is great. Watching the fireworks in Pittsburgh from your Seadoo is worth every penny.
Heres wishing you the best of luck in negotiating.
