I've had problems lately with my 2004 Sportster 4 tec when I go to start it. Intermitantly when you plug the lanyard in you will faintly hear the fuel pump run but no beeps will be emited and you can not start the boat.
I thought it might be the studd on the dash since it appeared to only happen on humid days. Sometimes I could clean it with an alcohol wipe and it would beep and start. Othertimes if I left the lanyard hooked up it would begin to beep after several minutes.
I replaced the electrical studd on the dash last week, everything worked fine at home and as I pulled up to the boat ramp and plugged the lanyard in NO BEEPS.
Needles to say I am a bit concerned.
Anybody else had similar NO BEEP concerns?
Thanks
Update: Took it to sea doo dealer and their lap top indicated dess circuit shorted to ground. Tech traced wires and everything good. Sea doo tech assistance had him order a under dash fuse block. Evidently the dess circuit runs through this device and it is much more than just a fuse block since it has some addition circuitry for the dess etc. I am waiting on the part to get in, hope it is soon, weather has turned cold now.
Update: New fuse block repaired concern for $700. Able to drive one last time this year prior to winterizing.

DESS?
