WELL AFTER THE FIRST SERVICE THE SAME THING, 6900 RPMS. (I CAN GET 8100 RPMS ON INTIAL GUN BUT AS SOON AS BOAT PLAINS IT SETTLES DOWN TO 6900) NOW THE DEALER CLAIMS THIS IS JUST NORMAL AND I AM NOT SUPPOSE TO GET THE 8000 RPMS. IVE RESEARCED A LOT OF FORUMS AND I JUST CANT BELIEVE THIS. I'VE ALSO CALLED SEADOO AND AFTER 20 MINUTES ON HOLD I WAS TOLD TO CALL DEALER AND HAVE THEM CONTACT SEADDOO WHICH LEAD TO NOTHING.
ANY ONE KNOW WHATS GOING ON, OR HAVE SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?
I'M CONFIDENT IT IS LIMITED TO 6900 BY THE WAY IT ACTS.
ALSO MY HOUR COUNTER IS NOT WORKING PROPERELLY, I WONDER IF THIS COULD BE AFFECTING ANYTHING. IT IS SHOWING 1 HR AFTER ABOUT 14 HOURS OF BOATING.

HR meater is a known problem on 2007 C180Hey i bought a challenger 180 about a month ago and i too am having problems with the hour meter. The first day i had zero the second i got 1 but the third time it went back to zero . After a long day of boating i still had one i dunno why its like, but im having same problem as u. about the rpm ima check on sunday and get back to u.
Engine computer and your display resets itself
Sea-doo is working on the fix
Think of it as you always will have a new boat(or very low hr boat)
RPM's will check this weekend

Is your engine SCI BOUGHT A 2007 CHALLENGER 180 SE. AT THE END OF BREAK IN PERIOD I NOTICED THAT MY BOAT WOULD LIMIT OUT AT 6900 RPM'S. AFTER TALKING TO 4 DEALERS I FINALLY FOUND ONE WHO CLAIMED THAT ON THE FIRST 10 HR SERVICE THEY WOULD RESET COMPUTER WHICH WOULD ALLOW ME TO GET CLOSE TO THAT 8000 RPMS.

My top RPM is around 7980 - can't seem to break 8K!
I've noticed there is ALWAYS water in the deck compartment, and believe I may have a leak. There is always around 2 - 3 inches of water in this compartment. Anyone else find this to be true?

WOW, Yours is even worse than mine. Had mine out today again and still 6900 rpm's. Can get between 34 and 39 mph depending on my weight load. when I first gun it my boat will jump to 8100 rpms but will come done quickly, as i accelerate.OK same thing with my c180

From my research on the net, I'm pretty sure we should be getting close to 8000 rpms if we want it. Just need to find a dealer who knows what is going on.
Other wise I have plenty of power other wise to pull tubes and wake boarders.
I am going to call the dealer local here again, and try complaining again and see if we cant get somewhere on the r.p.m.s.
Also my boat takes on no water whatsoever, unless we forget to put the plugs in.

My advice....switch to metal clutch washers....this is a know weak point that may fail anytime soon...!!! Metal washers all the way, i personally choose to opt for the Riva metal washers (the gen 2 series without any coating on them, just the tempered ones...similar to what Sea-Doo will put inside their 2008 SC on their line-up).
Hope this helps....BTW.....read forums like www.greenhulk.net
you will learn a lot from those places, these are true racers, that torn down a lot of engines to pieces....they know what to do/know/check/.

my RPM was maxing at 7200
untill something happen which we still dont know. i drifted the boat out after beaching it and it felt as if something was stuck inside or went through and i couldnt pass going 5 km/h.
took it to the shop took the whole thing apart and they found nothing wrong and they tested it and it worked.
i took it back for the first time yesterday and my RPM was going around 8100
i didnt let the speed max out but i got to 63 km/h
