New member looking for 97 challanger 1800 shop manual. I did not see this listed under the downloads. I did notice one for year 96. Could these be the same? If not where should I go to get one? Thanks for your help! GBC

You can use the '98 shop manual, as both boats were very similar with the exception being the MPEM, which isn't covered in the main service manual anyway.

Hi , Im new on here I would like to know if anyone can help me get a repair manual for my seadoo challenger 1800 1997 plz. I have to change forward /reverse cable plus a few other things , Im new to seadoo and have no idea about the things I need to do to boat a repair manual would be so helpful if any1 could help would be gr8. Pdf file would be awesome thanks

SBT sells new reverse cables for your boat.  Ive provided a link to the part below.

 

I have personally replaced the reverse cable on my '98 1800. Changing the shifter section of the cable was simple. Hopefully your stainless shifter screws did not bond with the aluminum braces holding the shifter in place. Otherwise, the challenge comes when changing the thru hull section. It can be done, and is easier if the water-box near the thru-hull bolt is removed before the repair.

 

You will need anadjustable wrench, and be prepared to do some extended headstands.
