I always considered myself mechainically and technically inclined...until today! I just bought a Speedster with twin jets and took my wife and son for a ride. We made it about 5 minutes and then she died. I couldn't get any beeps when I put on the DESS key, but the radio, lights, blower, etc all worked fine.
Can anyone help me figure out why I am such a dunce?
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!
New Doo'er,cant figure it out!

I had the same problem. Turned out that the contact inside the key was bent down. When you look into the key, there are two metal contacts. One against the bottom and one against the side. With mine, the contact that was supposed to be against the side had bent down on top of the one on the bottom. It wasn't clear at first that there was anything wrong with the key, so look very closely. I had this problem the first time out too so there is a good chance that it is due to a manufacturing problem and therefore there is a good chance that it might be the same problem that you are having. If that is the problem, don't feel bad. It took my dad, brother, and myself about 30 minutes to figure it out.

This may sound silly, but after I shut my engine off yesterday to get some grass out of the grate, I couldn't get it started for some time. Then I noticed I had left it in forward.
sad but true

Isn't it supposed to make a long beep if left on gear and trying to turn over the engine? This may sound silly, but after I shut my engine off yesterday to get some grass out of the grate, I couldn't get it started for some time. Then I noticed I had left it in forward.

Believe it or not, that is going to happen you again and again! Usually when your trailer is been pulled up the slip and you turn the key to get nothing. 10 seconds of major panic and then the penny drops!
