Yikes! I am thinking about buying the same boat...going for a test ride with the owner in a couple of days. I guess I will be giving the boat a good going over before I decide one way or another... Thanks for the info!Hi everyone. New to site and need some help. May not be posting in right place so be patient. Just purchased a 2002 utopia 185 with a 240 efi. Loved the boat when first looked at but put it up on the rack and concerned about potential issue with crack in fiberglass running perpendicular from where engine (jet pump) goes through fiberglass at rear of boat. Update: I purchased boat and long story short on my second attempt to repair and back in repair shop. Sea Doo dealer no longer certified for Mercury so had to go to Mercury certifed dealer as involved pulling engine and jet pump. They are telling me stress cracks in both aft corners of where power head attaches to jet pump. In grinding they found voids in the fiberglass that had to be filled. Have you ever heard of this and what can I doo to deal with Sea Doo to get assistance on any warranty - (I think it is just out of warranty) I haven't even had the boat out for any fun yet.

I made a post some tiime ago with pictures of a similar problem. Right now my boat is being opened below the water line and filled since there was a 2 inch void between the foam and the fiberglass sheet. This was the cause of all my gelcoat cracking. It seems to be a manufacturing problem, as the foam is cleanly "cut".Hi everyone. New to site and need some help. May not be posting in right place so be patient.
